My name is Ms. Smith. I teach morning Kindergarten. I believe that we learn while having fun. I try to create an environment that will be memorable to everyone. I know how difficult it is to get day-to-day information from our little one's, so each month I will send home a photo albumn with pictures of our activities and any special events. Hopefully this will be the jumpstart for their memories.
We have homework Monday through Thursday and students are required to turn it in each day. Everyone has learned how to read and are practicing strategies to figure out words we don't know. Using picture clues, sounding out words, making sure that the beginning sounds match are all ways to help us read better. Re-reading favorite books can help with fluency also. The best thing is always a parent reading to us or with us.
Daily Schedule:
We are in the class except for a few special treats. Library is Tuesday at 10:00 - 10:30 a.m., Computer is every other week on Wednesday from 10:00 - 10:40 a.m., and Music is Friday from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m.
